He is actively involved in several professional organizations, including: Society of Human Resource Management/HRHouston; National Black MBA; and National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR).  Darrell is a Past President of the Houston NAAAHR Chapter, and the Houston Black MBA Chapter.

In 2014, Darrell published the book, Inclusion Recruiting: The 12 Secrets to Recruiting a Diverse Workforce.  The primary intent of the book was to assist Corporate HR, Diversity, and Recruiting departments with the tactics and strategies to effectively brand, source, and recruit a diverse workforce, while ensuring the process is inclusive.     

As a student-athlete, Darrell graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University and has a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Arizona State University.  He is also a member the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Our Team

John maintained a high profile in the management search industry for more than 20 years in the areas of management, recruiting and consulting. Mr. Jordan was the Managing Director of John Jordan and Company, Inc., which provided retained executive search services, project management, consulting and technical staffing services to companies in the semiconductor, consumer products, petrochemical, and personal computer industries. He has held Human Resource Management positions with Control Data, EDS, and Flour Daniel. John headed the staffing effort for Advanced Micro Devices “FAB 25″ in Austin, Texas, which involved the recruiting of 1,000 technicians and engineers for a newly constructed facility. He was also instrumental in assisting National Semiconductor in Arlington, Texas, with an international technology staffing effort from the U.K. to Texas.

John also held a Master of Science in Human Resources from Houston Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Alabama as a student athlete on the football team. He was a member of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, Society of Human Resources Management, and National Black MBA Association. John passed away in 2019.

Michael Meyer is a Sr. Recruiting Consultant with James & Jordan.  He has over 30 years of experience in Sourcing, Recruiting, and Human Resources where he has worked with such companies as Motorola/Freescale, Boys and Girls Club, and Rush Enterprises.  Michael also has experience in B2B sales/marketing.

Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Southwest Texas State University. He also earned an MBA with a Marketing/Finance concentration from St. Edward’s University.

Sharon Meyer is the Operations Manager for James & Jordan.  In this role, she provides operational support for recruiting and training practices.   

Before starting as Operations Manager with James & Jordan, Sharon was a middle school math teacher for 22 years. She taught both pre-Algebra and Algebra.  She was team leader for the last three years of her teaching career. She successfully leads her team to have the highest Algebra scores on state testing in her school district.

Sharon enjoys Pickleball and staying fit. She is a certified Pickleball instructor who teaches lessons to those wanting to learn or improve play in the game.  She is a graduate of the University of Texas.
